We’re staying in Kaclla, The Healing Dog Hostel in Lima. A kaclla is a Peruvian breed of hairless dog which has a much higher body temperature than most dogs. Historically, the dog’s warmth was used for healing purposes, to help with rheumatism for example. There is an adult kaclla, Pisco, in the hostel, that I haven’t managed to get a good picture of yet. However, there is also a puppy, although I’m not quite sure who it belongs to. He is very cute, and provided all the entertainment we needed yesterday evening.
